Legendary California emcee and Cypress Hill front-man B Real made a stop in New York this week in promotion of his first ever solo album, Smoke N Mirrors.

On Tuesday February 24, B Real made an appearance at Fat Beats for an in-store autograph signing. Other members of the Duck Down family were present as well, including Canadian born producer Marco Polo and Brooklyn emcee Torae, who recently signed with the label for the release of their upcoming album, Double Barrel. Those in attendance who purchased the album received free giveaways including Smoke N Mirrors matchbook and t-shirt.

New York’s famed SOB’s hosted a concert featuring B Real and Somalian poet/rapper K’naan on Wednesday February 25. B Real’s set included songs from his album such as “6 Minutes” and “Psycho Realm Revolution,” and classic Cypress Hill material including “Hand On The Pump.” Along with B Real on stage was up-and-coming California emcee Young De.

Following B Real was K’naan, taking the stage to perform material off his latest album, “Troubadour,” which features guest appearances from Mos Def, Adam Levine, and Damian Marley. Joining him on stage was legendary New York emcee Chubb Rock, who is also featured on the album.

Peace to Fat Beats and SOB’s for bringing quality hip hop to NYC.
